Dwayne Jones
I joined Cogito in 2018 a couple months after completing my university degree where I studied BA Journalism and Communications at Cardiff University.
Initially, I worked as a Research Consultant, this exposed me to a range of aspects within the business. I had responsibilities in carrying out telephone interviews, which vastly improved my telephone manner and skills within collective qualitative data. This role also involved me supporting in the writing up of our final reports, and I was also able to attend several of our end of project presentations with our clients. Something that I really liked with this mix of responsibilities within this role is the level of involvement in research projects that I have been able to have, and being able to see a project from beginning to end is something that is very satisfying. Overall, I found myself developing very quickly and gaining a lot of skills that I had not had before.
Throughout my time at Cogito, my role has evolved. I now work as the Research & Insights Analyst within the People Insights team. I am now more responsible for producing content such as whitepapers, blogs and case studies for our company website and in reports for clients. I also lead some of our Employer Brand projects. Alongside my role, I am also doing a part time masters degree in Marketing at Kings College London, which I thoroughly enjoy!
To anyone who is considering working for Cogito as a graduate – do it, everyone is friendly and incredibly supportive in whatever aspect of the business you wish to work in. You will have the opportunity to provide new aspects which have the ability to vastly improve our way of working, which is not something that is not always available to you in a graduate position.
